Ofsted inspected us in July 2024.
There is much within the inspection report to celebrate. We are delighted that the strength of our school has been recognised with good or outstanding grades in four of the five inspection areas. We are immensely proud of this. We are however disappointed with the overall inspection judgement and are determined to action the points for improvement promptly.
In addition, we are pleased that Ofsted acknowledged that the school is taking the right action to improve further. We can now see this improvement in really pleasing Key Stage 2 outcomes, published in July (see table below).
We continue to do all we can everyday to ensure the best possible education for the children in our care, as well as the most exciting, rich and nurturing school experience for them.
If you are a prospective parent considering whether West Dean is the right setting for your child to begin their primary education, we urge you to do two things; firstly, please read our SIAMS (church inspection) report from the separate inspection that also took place last academic year. Secondly and most importantly, please get in touch with us to arrange to come and see the school for yourself. We would love to show you around and have a conversation.
