Lunchtimes

Children at West Dean have the option of bringing packed lunches or having a hot meal at lunchtime. We encourage healthy eating in school and lunchtimes are a social occasion where children sit with children from other classes, and with friends from their class. We encourage good manners and learn how to use a knife and fork correctly - even lunchtimes are a learning opportunity! Hot meals are provided by Chartwells. Chartwells team work alongside our school grown ups to help the children have a healthy, safe and happy lunchtime.  We are a nut free school.

Each child in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 (Key Stage 1) is entitled to a free school meal and can be ordered via Chartwells' through Parent Pay (this is funded by the government's Universal Free School Meals initiative - UiFSM). Parents of children in Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 (Key Stage 2) can order meals via Chartwells' through Parent Pay at a cost of £2.97 per meal.  Ordering of all meals is the responsibility of parents/carers.  Please follow the links below to access further information.
